The OKBT Classic took place Saturday Sept. 28th on the Tri-Lakes in Kawartha Lakes Ontario. 25 anglers who qualified for the event throught their AOY standing in the OKBT series showed up to try and claim the title of Classic Champion.
The Classic runs a bit of a different format from regular series events. All anglers would leave from the same launch in a shotgun style start. This event saw us leaving from a launch on Chemong lake. And also as a change only 1/2 hour was given as a headstart to lines in time at the Classic.
The day was not as forecast with windy and cool conditions, likely from the front moving through from the hurricane down south. The fishing was slow to start but there were fish around. Alot of smaller sub 16″ fish were beign caught and it was obvious a grindy type day was ahead for everyone. The bigger fish started popping up as the day went along with some movement on the board.
When results were tallied, Kris Totosko took the Classic win for the second year with a total of 80.25″. Ian Hodgkins made a late day run and placed second with 77.00″ and a big kicker kept John Dean locked in third with 76.75″. Big Bass of the day went to John Dean with a 21.50″ largemouth.
Thanks for all that came out and participated and we will see you all next season.
