The OKBT season came to an end on Saturday September 20th at the OKBT Classic. The Classic was held on Seymour Lake after a random draw for a list of nine options. The top 25 anglers from the Radioworld AOY standings participated in the event.
Those that have been to Seymour before know that it isn’t going to give its bass up easily. Typically you have to work for them and figure it out as it is loaded with structure and cover but not all of it holds bass.
It didn’t take long for the leaderboard to start getting active. Tyler Warner drew first blood with a good 18.50″ bass early. Mig Sig put up an early limit of smalmouth as well. But the day was young and lots of time left for the rest of the field to figure it out. Once the temperture started to rise the largemouth turned on. There was a battle at the top of the board between Ian Hodgkins, Terence Conroy and John Dean. There were flipping positions for a good part of the afternoon. But, as always there is the come from behind king Kris Totosko to worry about. We would see what happened at the awards and how it played out.
Awards were handed out to the top three as well as big bass. The final results were:
1st Place – Terence Conroy – 85.25″
2nd Place – Kris Totosko – 85.00″
3rd Place – Ian Haodgkins – 83.50″
Big Bass – Ian Hodgkins – 20.00″
This was a great day on the water and great way to end the 8th season of the OKBT. Thanks to all that participated this year and we will see you all next season where we will all try to qualify for the Classic once again.
