OKBT 2025 Bay of Quinte Results

The midway point of the 2025 OKBT season has been passed witht he completion of event #3 at the Bay of Quinte on Saturday, July 19th. It had been three years since we had been to Quinte and it was an anticipated return to the big waters.

The Bay can be a fickle place to fish. It is definately a world class fishery, but it can also make you feel very humble at the same time. As event day came around, the 114 anglers were lucky that the major heat wave that had come through the province for the week prior to the event had broken and the winds stayed calm for most of the day. This made for a better day on the water for sure as wind out there can make it a miserble day.

The word coming back from pre-fish was it was fishing tough and small. But we always hear that from the and then event day comes around and things light up. This day was no different. Fish were hitting the board early and consistently. Duffy McGuire jumped out to an early lead anchored by a tank of a 20.00″ largie and stayed there for the majority of the day. Places below the lead were switching in and out as anglers were upgrading but it was going to be tight at the end. The board went dark for the last hour and as the results came in there was definately a late day bite happening as the positions changed greatly.

Shawn Coffell took the win and in doing so also guaranteed himself a qualifying spot in the Classic on Septmeber 20th. He joins Chris Wdowiak and Terence Conroy who qualified at Nipissing and Tri-lakes. And Kris Totosko nailed a beauty of a largemouth to take away the Radioworld Big Bass award for the event

Congratulations go out to

1st Place – Shawn Coffell – 86.00″

2nd Place – Kris Totosko – 84.75″

3rd Place – Joseph Boily – 84.75″

Big Bass – Kris Totosko – 20.75″
