The 2024 schedule has been set and the OKBT will be holding 5 events again this year with two new bodies of water and some returning favorites. The last event of the year will be a 2-day event and the Classic will return for the second year.
May 18th – Lake Nipissing –The first event is an early start to season again this year. This year we are heading back to Nipissing, specifically the west end of the lake from the Sturgeon River west and into West Bay and West Arm. This year we will be fishing the lake one week after opener.
June 22nd – Lake St. Clair – Event number two takes us back to Lake St.Clair. And why wouldn’t we go back. This is one of the best smallmouth fisheries anywhere. Anyone that has fished St.Clair on opening weekend knows this is the place to be for smashing smallmouth. And not just any smallmouth, but big smallmouth. Pretty sure there will be some PB’s broken at this event.
July 20th – Long Point Bay – This world class fishery that sits on the north shore of Lake Erie is the setting for the third event of the season. This is a new venue for the OKBT but one that has been in the making for a while. The bay is home to big largemouth and smallmouth and at this time of year both will be in play inside the bay.
August 17th – Georgian Bay (Port Severn) – The fourth event brings us back to the big waters of Georgian Bay. We will be once again fishing the southeast part Georgian Bay in the Port Severn area. With islands, bays, and more water than you could possibly fish, the smallmouth and largemouth will be there for you to figure out and should provide some great fishing. Those of you that fished this event last time will understand why we are going back.
September 7th and 8th – Charleston Lake – We finish off the season with a two-day event on Charleston Lake. Situated just north-east of Kingston, the lake offers up both largemouth and smallmouth with a lot of water to fish. This is another new lake for the OKBT and from all reports it is well worth the visit. It should be a great lake to close out the season and see who moves onto the Classic.
September 28th – Classic – The Classic will return for 2024 after a successful inaugural event in 2023. The lake will once again be unknown until days before event. Qualification for the event will be through final AOY standings.
2024 will remain the same as far as the formats go for the OKBT. Each event will pay out a minimum of the top 5 as well as Big Bass of the day. AOY for 2024 will be determined from the best 4 of 5 events.
Stay tuned for more event information and series updates.
