OKBT 2024 Lake St Clair Results

June 22nd saw the opening of bass season in the whole of Ontario. Except for a few Zones where the season opens earlier, this is a much anticipated day. And what a better place for 115 anglers to spend this day than on Lake St Clair for the second OKBT event of the season presented by Bubba. St Clair is a smallmouth factory and consistently rates among the top 3 smallmouth bass fisheries in the world. Once again the lake did not disappoint.

As always in LSC the name of the game is to fine the magic depth that the fish are related to. On this day it seemed that the bass were relating to shallow water. With calm weather to start the day and a mayfly hatch in full swing, top water bites seemed to play a role right off the start in the morning but we all know that finesse would play big time here. As the day progressed the wind picked up and started to make things challenging but not to the point where fish weren’t being caught. Cole Garland, who came in from Indiana, put up some big numbers early and held onto the top spot. Local hammer Rob Baginski started to post fish and move up the board. Kris Totosko was in the mix as always and RJ Hoover from Michigan was right there as well. As the board went dark it was tight at the top. As the day ended some shuffling happened as usual and the board sorted itself out. Final standing were posted and this is how it ended.

1st Place – Mike Morand – 94.75”

2nd Place – Rob Baginski- 94.50”

3rd Place – Chris Butzen – 93.75”

Big Bass – John Wang – 20.50”
