Well the OKBT season has come to an end. And there was no better way to do that than an event on Sturgeon Lake, with great conditions and 107 anglers coming out to enjoy themselves.
As the day got underway conditions couldn’t have been better. Calm waters and comfortable temps made for a great start to the day. It wasn’t long after the 6:30 am start that the bass started hitting the leader board. Zachary Smuk got on an early bite and loaded up his limit in the first hour to take the lead. Zach would stay there for a while, but we all know that there would be fish loading up soon and thats exactly what happened. The lead changed hands between a number of anglers and James Pendleton popped up there with a good card to take it over about midday. The battle was still on and it was close behind James, with Tyler Warner having another good event and putting a push on. Nate Conley made a bit of a move and was hanging around the top 5 as well as Ian Hodgkins and when the board shut down with an hour to go it was anyones event to win. When all was done James Pendleton held onto his lead and took the win, his first, with a 90″ total. Ian Hodgkins made a push late in teh day and took second foolowed by Nate Conley, who boated an upgrade with 10 minutes left to push past Tyler Warner for third place.
James Pendleton – 1st Place – 90.00″
Ian Hodgkins – 2nd Place – 87.00″
Nate Conley – 3rd Place – 85..75″
Big Bass – James Pendleton – 20.50″
