OKBT 2021 Stoney Lake Results

Sunday came around and the OKBT anglers were back on the water, but this time it was on Stoney Lake.  This event was a substitute lake for the event on Ramsey Lake in May that was cancelled due to COVID restrictions in place at that time.  But what an event it turned out to be.  The day started a bit cooler, but the fishing was hot.  Numbers started hitting the leaderboard early and didn’t stop all day.  Chris Visser was quick to get his limit and put a claim on the top of the board.  Everyone else was close behind and chasing that position all day.

The second to tenth spots changed hands multiple times and was extremely tight.  It seemed that any upgrades, no mater how small, moved the board around and no one was safe. After the board shut down Chris was still leading but holding onto a 15” largemouth he had been trying to cull since early morning.  And again, never count out the late fish as with 10 minutes to go and within about 20 yards from the launch he culled that out with a 17.75” smallmouth.

When the results were in, Chris was still on top taking home the ‘W’ for the day.  A late charge once again from Paul Winkel saw him take second and Matthew Heayn third.  Fourth and fifth went to Mike Hockey and Mike Morand respectively.  Congrats also goes to Nelson Brunes and Chris Visser on the 19.75” largemouth.  Nelson took Big Bass Honours with this bass on a tie breaker

1st Place – Chris Visser – 86.75”

2nd Place – Paul Winkel – 83.50”

3rd Place – Matthew Heayn – 82.75”

4th Place – Mike Hockey – 79.25”

5th Place – Mike Morand – 78.50”

Big Bass – Nelson Brunes – 19.75”

All-in-all it was a fantastic weekend with two great events on some amazing lakes.  As always, we must give a big shout out and thank you to all our sponsors.  They make these events even better for all of us.
