Well that was fun to watch. The Hawgtober online event once again lived up to its name and showed out a great display of the bass that Ontario has to offer.
It was a tight race to the finish this month for sure. Rob Baginski took the lead early with a stringer of 104″ that looked hard to beat. Not to be out done the rest of the 59 angler field got to work and started to chase Rob down. With a little over a week to go it was getting intersting in the top 5. With the right couple of fish any of them could bump Rob from the lead. Justin Awram did just that with a couple of key upgrades and took over the lead with 4 days to go. Not to let that stand unchallenged Rob went back to work and put up two upgrades on the last day of the event, a 22.00′ and a 20.75″ to put a straglehold on the win.
When it was over it was a pretty impressive leaderboard with 59 bass over 20″ being submitted. There are always some pretty impressive numbers in the Hawgtober event but this one topped them all with a new record of 106.50″ for the winning card.
Congratulations to
1st Place – Rob Baginski – 106.50″
2nd Place – Justin Awram – 104.75″
3rd Place – Adam Connor – 104.25″
And with that we draw a close to the OKBT season. It was a great year and look forward to doing it all again in 2022
