OKBT 2021 Catchacoma Results

Well, that was fun! A double weekend for the OKBT series that saw 165 anglers participate in two separate events over the weekend.  Saturday saw 87 anglers hit up the Mississauga and Catchacoma Lakes chain for the 3rd event of the series and then 78 anglers went right back at it on Sunday fishing Stoney Lake for the 4th event of the series.

Saturday started off hot and just got even hotter as the day went on.  As the day got going a couple of big fish hit the leaderboard early.  Max Burgess put up a solid 20.25” largemouth in the first five minutes to put his mark on the day.  Richard Ofner got off to a quick start early on as well with a couple of 18” smallmouth that put him on top of the board and then anchored that with a beauty 21” smallmouth to solidify that spot with a full card.  He would stay there for most of the day as anglers continued to jockey for position behind him.  It was clear on this day that a big kicker fish was going to be key to having a good card at the end of the day.  Catching fish was not an issue for most, but catching the right size was proving difficult.

When the leaderboard went dark with an hour left in the day Richard was still on top, but if anyone know that things happen late its Richard.  When the day was over, and results finalized it showed just that.  There was a new leader as Mike Morand came on late to pull ahead of Richard and take the win.  Adam Blackmore notched his first podium appearance taking home a well earned third place.  Rounding out the top five were Josh Bobyk and Nicolas Rousseau.  Congrats to the winners and everyone that came out and participated.  It was a great day on a beautiful set of lakes.

1st Place – Mike Morand – 86.50”

2nd Place – Richard Ofner – 85.25”

3rd Place – Adam Blackmore – 84.25”

5th Place – Nicolas Rousseau – 82.75”
