OKBT #2 at the Otonabee River is a wrap. 32 anglers showed up to test their skills against the river and the bass that live there. Again Mother Nature was playing games with us. After another warm week, the area received heavy rain on Friday. This little change in weather made the bite a bit tougher, but as usual, put guys on the water and they are going to figure them out. And figure them out they did.
Chris Visser took home the win with 79”. Michael Blumhagen placed second with 77.25” and Brian Arnold third with 76.75” Brian also took big bass honours with a nice 19.25” smallmouth. An honourable mention goes to Scott Irons who also bagged a 19.25” largie but the tie breaker went to Brian as he was first to submit the big bass.
A huge thanks goes out to Richard Ofner and Megan Nowicki for volunteering their time to judge this event for all of us. Also thanks to Dwayne Walley for working overtime today to correct a server issue at Tourney X so we could all have use of the system. And lastly all of you anglers that came out and participated. Without you these events don’t happen. It was great to see everyone come back for after event awards and see familiar faces and meet some new people.
So two events are in the books and we are heading to Lake St Clair in a few weeks for the last event of the year for OKBT. Hope to see you all out there for an LSC smallie smash.
