Event #4 Georgian Bay (Parry Sound) Results

Rain, rain, rain, and more rain. And just when you thought it was over it rained again. That was the way Saturday August 12th went for OKBT event #4, presented by Old Town Canoes & Kayaks, on Georgian Bay out of the Parry Sound area. 85 anglers registered for this event, even with the threat of bad weather and big water as they knew what the area was capable of producing.

The forecast on Saturday looked like it had taken a turn for the better, but That didn’t last long. Not long after the start time of 6am the skies opened, and the rain came on in full force. It rained on and off, more on than off for the next 3 hours before turning into a thunder and lightning show. Refuge was taken by the anglers on the shore until it was safe again to resume fishing. Kris Totosko posted some early fish and followed closely by Adam Blackmore and Max Burgess. As the afternoon came Adam was in the lead and holding steady until the board went dark. We all know by now that the last hour can produce fish and surprises and this event was no different. After a late flurry in the last hour a new leader emerged as the evet ended and the awards started, Kris Totosko took the victory in this hard-fought battle with a couple of late smallmouths to increase his total. Adam Blackmore took second place and Max Burgess was a solid third. One of those late smallmouths also got Kris the Big Bass award for the day. It measured in at 20.75”

1st – Kris Totosko – 94.00″

2nd – Adam Blackmore – 92.75″

3rd – Max Burgess – 88.25″

Big Bass – Kris Totosko – 20.75

Thanks to all that came out to enjoy the day and a big thanks to all our sponsors who help in making these events what they are. And a big thanks to our presenting sponsor – Old Town Canoes & Kayaks for their support on the event. Alot of happy anglers walking away with some great swag from Old Town.

See you all at the Tri-Lakes event for the season finale on Sept 9/10. This is a two-day event to close out the year and will be a great weekend for sure. Not only will we have our regular draw prizes after the event, but we will also be drawing off some great year end prizes and crowning the new Radioworld Angler of the Year.
