OKBT # 3 at Lake St Clair -Mitchell’s Bay is complete and the lake lived up to its big fish status for sure. It was definitely a tale of two strategies. It appears that the field settled in on two launches, one was a deeper bite and the other group stayed shallower. Well the bite was tough for the deep guys as the fish seemed to start their feed in the last few days and the big girls were all found shallow cruising around in schools. The weather was perfect with light winds and it made for a great day on St. Clair.
Congratulations go to Michael Blumhagen who won the event with an impressive 94.50” card and also took big bass honours with a fat 20” Smallmouth. Second went to Dave Poole who carded 88.50” and local stick Rob Baginski took third with 86.00”.
Thanks to everyone that came out to St. Clair. It was great to see a large number of anglers come from the GTA and surrounding areas for the event.
Have a look a the photos to see Mike’s winning bag and some of the slobs that came out of St Clair today. This lake never disappoints.
