OKBT Georgian Bay Results

August is halfway done, and we are closing in on the end of the OKBT season. Saturday August 17th was the 4th event of the OKBT series, and we held the event on Georgian Bay, presented by Radioworld, at the Port Severn/Honey Harbor area. We had visited this area two seasons ago and put up some big numbers on the boards, so the hopes were high to replicate this again.

The weather was being watched most of the week. Some good winds and rain was being forecast but we must have lucked out as come tournament day the wind lay down and the rain stayed away for the most part. Some overcast skies met us in the morning, but the fishing was hot right off the start. To no surprise Mike Morand started off on the right note with a quick 19” smallmouth on the board. Fish were being caught early and frequently. There was movement up and down the leaderboard all day as the catches kept coming in. Chris Butzen was having a good day and took top spot and hung out there for a while until Chris Wdowiak decided to add his name to the party. Brian Arnold was making moves as well to keep him in contention. And in the background upgrading constantly throughout the day Chris Visser was in the mix as well. When the board went dark for the last hour it was still up in the air what was going to transpire at the awards.

The board did take a turn and shook out a bit in the last hour. Looks like ’Chris’ was the lucky name to be today.

The results of the top three are:

1st Place – Chris Wdowiak – 95.50”

2nd Place – Chris Butzen – 93.50”

3rd Place – Chris Visser – 91.75”

Big Bass – Ryan Tyler – 21.00”

It was a great event once again on the Big Bay. There is so much water on Georgian Bay and the quality of fish is hard to deny. We will return for sure.

A big thanks goes out to our presenting sponsor, Radioworld for all the support you provide all season long and for the awards at this event.

And as always, thanks you to all the sponsors of the OKBT

The season finale is coming up on September 7/8 on Charleston Lake. This two day event will be a great way to end the season and crown the 2025 Radioworld Angler of the Year as well as draw off some awesome awards from our sponsors.

See you all there.
