Saturday July 15th was event number three on the OKBT calendar. Lake Simcoe would be host to the 112 anglers for the event presented by Under Armour. With threats of bad weather all week,\ the questio would be would Lady Simcoe show up for the event and produce those big bags she is famous for?
Saturday morning came with relative calm. A stiff breeze from the south was there but nothing that we couldn’t or wouldn’t fish in. A few fish got on the board early and continued throughout the day. The entries were slow and that showed as the front that came in was definitely influencing the bite. But as always, the guys find them and this event was no difference. Matt Robinson was quick to load up the board with a limit and he stayed at or near the top most of the day. A few other anglers started to show up and challenge Matt for the lead. Duffy McGuire, who is always a threat, started putting up fish and climbing the board. Not long after Antoine Desrochers-Gagnon showed he was there to challenge the leaders. When the board went dark for the last hour it was still up in the air on what would transpire.
As we arrived at the awards ceremony it was still unknown to the final placings. Were there some late catches that would prove crucial int he standings? Antoine Desrochers-Gagnon ended up taking first place followed by Duffy McGuire and Michael Blumhagen. A shout out goes to Karen Poole who tied for third but ended up taking 4th place on the tie breaker rule. Duffy also took big bass on the day.

2nd – Duffy McGuire – 90.75″
3rd – Michael Blumhagen – 82.00″
