OKBT 2022 Season

The 2022 OKBT schedule has been set and the OKBT will be holding 5 events again this year with some new water and a couple of old favorites thrown in.

May 28th – Ramsey Lake –The first event is an early start to season this year and will provide us with some unique early season bass fishing. Located in the City of Sudbury, Ramsey Lake has a healthy smallmouth bass population and is often a stop on some northern club circuits. Out of the norm for most of us in the southern part of the province, this should provide a unique event with conditions we don’t typically see.

June 25th – Lake St. Clair – After three years, we are going back to Lake St.Clair. This is one of the best smallmouth fisheries anywhere. Anyone that has fished St.Clair on opening weekend knows this is the place to be for smashing smallmouth. And not just any smallmouth, but big smallmouth. Pretty sure there will be some PB’s broken at this event. This event will include all waters of Lake St Clair on the Canadian side.

July 16th – Bay of Quinte – This renowned world class fishery is the setting for the third event of the season. With an area stretching from Trenton to the Glenora Ferry at Adolphustown, there is more than enough water to get out there and find a great limit. July should see the smallmouth and largemouth settling into their summer patterns and should allow some big limits to be caught.

August 13th – Port Severn – The fourth event brings us to the big water of Georgian Bay. Located on the southeast part Georgian Bay, Port Severn is one of the many popular areas on the bay including Midland, Penetanguishene, Waubashene, and Honey Harbour to name a few. With islands, bays, and more water than you could possibly fish the smallmouth and largemouth will be there for you to figure out and should provide some great fishing.

September 10th – Sturgeon Lake – For the final event we return to Sturgeon Lake. But this time it is for the fall bite. We last had an event at Sturgeon in June of 2020 at the start of the pandemic and had a great event. With the lake getting ready for winter, both the smallmouth and largemouth should be fattening up and will be willing to play.

2022 will remain the same as far as the formats go for the OKBT. Each event will pay out the top 5 as well as Big Bass of the day. AOY for 2022 will be determined from the best 4 of 5 events.

Stay tuned for event information and series updates.
